We hope you will join-there is strength in numbers and it is from this strength that we can press for improvements in services for carers. Some members have little contact with us but they enjoy reading our newsletter-it helps keep them informed about new services for carers and helps them to feel "in touch" with other carers. Consultation Events with carers to press for "change" and better services for carers. Conferences and consultation eventsWe host specialist themed events to bring carers and professionals together to help make carers lives better, e.g. financial planning, domiciliary care provision and carers health. TrainingWe provide training for other statutory and voluntary organisations to help raise awareness of the issues faced by carers. Carers GameWe have devised "Carers Lives are Different", a game which helps people see how carers can be disadvantaged (this can be borrowed free of charge and is suitable for use with voluntary organisations). TalksWe will come along and talk to local groups about our services, these are lively, interactive and FREE. CampaigningWe work alongside other organisations and are members of Carers UK who work hard to promote services that carers want and need. Each June there is a national week for Carers and all across the country carers organisations provide a series of events. many of which are fun based but which also have a clear message about the issues that carers face. In December each year there is a national Carers Rights Day and this helps carers focus on a range of services to help improve their lives.
